Current Gallery: cuban_flags ( piece)
The flag of Cuba was adopted on May 20, 1902, containing a field with five blue and white stripes, and a red equilateral triangle at the hoist with a white 5-pointed star. The flag was designed in 1848 for the liberation movement, which sought to detach Cuba from Spain. The flag was briefly hoisted in 1850 at Cardenas but was not officially adopted until 1902, when independence was granted by the US. Centuries later, the people of the world are waiting for The United States to Honor the "independence" it granted Cuba. And the people of Cuba are waiting for the Cuban government to become a government by the people for the people. These images are brought to you by efforts of many people who gracefully offer their art through Creative Commons (CC). The minor proceeds we receive from your purchase support the relentless efforts of many people committed to abolishing The U.S. Embargo on Cuba, one of them being myself. I know we will all meet in Cuba as the world continue to transform towards a place that works for everyone and no one left out. Enjoy Cuba, she has saved herself for you.
